The hills are alive...with the sound of Rob Zombie. On August 12th, Lion's
Gate Home Entertainment will release Rob Zombie's directorial debut, the
highly-controversial and oft-postponed The House of 1000 Corpses. Yikes! Lion's
Gate will release the flick in R-rated and Unrated versions, and will be presented
in anamorphic widescreen and 5.1 Dolby surround. Extras include an audio commentary
by Zombie, an isolated music score, behind-the-scenes
footage, a still gallery, theatrical trailers, and possibly more to be announced.
Stay tuned...if you dare.
In other horror DVD news, the great folks over at Blue Underground
are giving another cult classic the kind of deluxe treatment that puts even
Indiana
Jones to shame. On July 28th they will release Gary Sherman's Dead and Buried.
This grisly little favorite will be remastered in 1.85:1 anamorphic
widescreen and Dolby Digital and DTS, with plenty of extras including audio
commentary by Sherman, a second commentary by co-writer and producers
Ron Shusett and actress Linda Turley, and a third by cinematographer Steven
Poster, additional interviews with makeup guru Stan Winston, actor
Robert Englund and co-writer Dan Oâ€Bannon, multiple still
galleries and trailers.
Retail is $24.95. Scary!"
